2006 Season - Week 16
Hall Of Fame Old School
Your Old School votes are required by the end of the year. All you have to do is vote for your favourite top 7 in order from the names below. The 14 highest will form the Hall of Fame - Old School. The nominee’s are:- QBs John Elway, Dan Fouts, Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Joe Montana, Fran Tarkenton, Johnny Unitas; RBs Marcus Allen, Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, Tony Dorsett, Cecil Martin, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas; WR Henry Ellard; K/QB George Blanda; DBs Ronnie Lott, Rod Woodson; DE’s Richard Dent, Howie Long, William Perry, Bruce Smith, Michael Strahan, Reggie White; LB Lawrence Taylor and Punter Ray Guy.
Fame Again for Wayne
Wayne entered the Hall of Fame for the 2nd time in 3 weeks & his 7th visit overall. That ties Mark for most visits but more importantly it puts Wayne into the 3rd promotion spot as he moves 20 points ahead of Rookie George with just 1 week to go. Meanwhile Chief’s lead over AP is 25 points in the battle for the final drop spot. Amazingly the closest contest now is the fight for the Papas Fritas Trophy after John has put up 46 and 42 points in the last 2 weeks. Just 2 weeks ago John had a 46 point lead but that is now down to 15. It could all come down to the last game of the regular season when John’s QB Rex Grossman plays.
Mark’s All-Tunes Team
Inspired by the All-Food team we created for Ron, Mark has created an All-Tunes team for your holiday pleasure. The Whitney Houston Oilers are attached and has already prompted some alternate suggestions. The QB position has received a major overhall with the alternate starter being Denver’s JAY-Z Cutler backed up by Minnesota’s TAVARIS Jackson and Miami’s Cleo LEMON JELLY. At RB we have “I’M SORRY MISS (Steven) JACKSON” from The Rams and “A MESSAGE TO YOU RUDI” Johnson and where is fellow Bengal Tight End R(eggie) KELLY? If you think of any other have been missed please let me know. Congratulations to Seattle Guard Floyd “Pork Chop” WOMACK & WOMACK for making both teams. Mark says “please note the Jackson 5 playing defense”.
Injured Reserve
Mark has replaced RB Kevin Jones with Indianapolis rookie Joseph Addai. AP can sign a new player to replace Adam Bergen after Arizona put him on IR. He must stay inside the $10m budget & get any change to me before the Saturday night game. 11pm deadline.
Final Week BUMS on Seats.
On Saturday night The Redskins host The Giants. New York can clinch a wildcard spot if they win. We are not meeting to see this one. All other games are on New Years Eve but we will not see them live due to alcohol. We will meet at BUMS HQ on Monday (New Years Day) from 2pm for the recorded Sky Doubleheader (yet to be announced) and the final regular season game Green Bay @ Chicago recorded on Five at 1am New Years Morning.
